The Bermuda Dunes problem: the airport overhead
There is a general aviation airport in the middle of this community, which makes it the one part of the valley where a drone is a planning question rather than an afterthought. Aerials here need clearance to be legal, and depending on where the property sits the answer is sometimes no. I check before the shoot rather than on the driveway, and if the answer is no I will tell you in time to plan around it instead of turning up and improvising.

Can you fly a drone over a Bermuda Dunes property?
Sometimes, and it depends entirely on where the property sits. There is a general aviation airport in the middle of the community and the airspace around it is controlled, so an aerial needs clearance. Send me the address and I will check before you count on it.
How much does real estate photography cost in Bermuda Dunes?
Pricing is by square footage: $275 up to 2,000 sq ft, $350 for 2,001 to 3,000, $450 for 3,001 to 4,000 and $550 for 4,001 to 5,000. Same rates as everywhere else in the valley, and no travel charge.
Do you shoot inside the country club?
Yes, with the usual proviso that the club sets the rules on its own property. Tell me if there is a gate procedure, a time window, or anything the HOA wants arranged in advance, and I will work to it.
What time of day is best for a fairway home?
Later in the day for anything facing the course, because the light comes across the grass instead of down onto it and the greens stop going grey. If the house has both a fairway side and a street side, those are genuinely two different appointments' worth of light, and I plan the order around it.
Do you charge travel to Bermuda Dunes?
No. There is no travel fee anywhere from Desert Hot Springs to Indio, and Bermuda Dunes is inside that. You pay the same rate as anyone else in the valley.
How far ahead should I book?
A week is comfortable and I can often do sooner. If the listing has to go live on a date, call rather than email: I can tell you on the phone whether the day works, and listing weeks move fast enough that a day of email is a day you do not have.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Overcast is often easier than full sun here, and sky replacement is included, so a flat white sky is not a reason to move a shoot. Genuine rain or high wind, which mostly affects drone work, we reschedule.
